The last couple of weeks have been quite hectic with finishing the
storyboard for Mazed. Some alterations were needed for the story, a scene was
added to explain why the piskies was the reason for why John (one of the
farmers) was stuck in the bog. I was also struggling a bit with connection the
horses out on the moor to the piskies and why they were angry with the farmers
for scaring the horses away. This is explained in the written story, but could
be quite confusing in the visual one. I figured that if we changed the last
scene so that the piskies were sitting on one of the horses, it would make it
clear.
Finally the
storyboard is done. So many small changes were needed throughout the whole process,
the last bit was putting everything in the ‘safe zone’ of the screen. After
studying photography earlier I’m used to putting basically everything in the Golden
Ration. In film on the other hand, I have to think about the screen size and
the fact that maybe half of someone face may get cut if it’s too far to the
left or right.
I’ll defiantly remember this to next time, because it was quite painful to go through all the images and move everything just a tiny bit to the side.
Here's the animatic. (The drawings for this storyboard are quite quick and sketchy..)
